In my efforts to provide physicians of TMA with resources for managing electronic health data to have access to better information at the point of care, one of the projects I have been involved with since its inception has been Tennessee’s Health Information Exchange (HIE). Health Information Partnership for TN (HIP TN) http://www.hiptn.org/ was formed in part, to provide the necessary infrastructure and policies to help communities in Tennessee adopt electronic health records, securely share health data and clinical information, and achieve meaningful use. This week HIP TN released a series of videos to provide the health information exchange perspective. These videos represent many long hours by some very talented people and kudos to all those involved with the project.
Click on the link below if you would like to see how HIE is bringing value to providers and consumers across the State of Tennessee by facilitating the secure electronic exchange of healthcare information in the delivery of better, more effective patient care.

I would love to hear feedback on whether these video perspectives addressed how HIE could provide you with better information to make better decisions and have better outcomes for your patients. Do you see yourself ever participating with an exchange?
