Doctor of the Day
The Doctor of the Day program is popular with physicians and legislators alike. TMA members are asked to serve as the official physician for one day a week during the ongoing legislative session. During their day of service, physicians can attend hearings, have access to the House and Senate floor and may meet individually with legislators on important issues. In return, legislators have access to medical services for minor health concerns. This program is of great benefit to the cause of medicine because it reminds legislators on a weekly basis that physicians are participating in the legislative process.
