    About ICD-10 Educational Series

     

    Introducing a three-phase education program to take you and your practice through the steps needed to avoid disruption in patient care and reimbursement.  Dates, times and locations TBA.

       

    • Phase I ICD-10: Everything You Know Is About To Change - completed.
    • Phase II will roll out in Spring 2012 with a series of webinars focusing on the impact of ICD-10 and the physician's responsibilities.
    • Phase III will focus on educating practice coders and will be announced once ICD-10 codes are finalized. 

      

    Deadlines for ICD-10

     

    • January 1, 2012 - Heath care industry must convert to 5010, the new version of the
      HIPAA transaction standards.
    • October 1, 2013 - ICD-10 must be in place and in use by physicians and other healthcare providers
      for diagnosis and in-patient procedure coding.

    Resources

     

    Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has developed a number of resources to educate physicians and healthcare providers on the ICD-10 transition.
