IMPACT - Political Action for TN Physicians
Who We Are
IMPACT (Independent Medicine's Political Action Committee-Tennessee) is a non-partisan political action committee aimed at the retention and election of pro-medicine representatives. The IMPACT Board consists of nine physician members, one from each congressional district. Additionally, there is one TMA Alliance member, one Young Physician Section representative, and a resident and student member.
The IMPACT board is responsible for raising funds and meets several times a year to review and approve campaign contribution requests. Board members often attend campaign fundraisers and deliver IMPACT contribution checks. The board is advised by TMA lobbyists on how each legislator votes on Capitol Hill and how supportive they are of health care issues. IMPACT contributions are primarily targeted to friends on important committees and, to a lesser degree, to those in leadership roles.
IMPACT is a separate entity from the TMA.
