The current 21.2-percent cut in Medicare physician reimbursement is affecting private health insurance payments to physicians as well.
Physicians and their practice staff can now visit the AMA's Web site at www.ama-assn.org/go/payerpolicies to access a chart that outlines how private insurers' payment policies will be affected by the application of the SGR cut to the 2010 Medicare Fee Schedule. Information included in this chart was self-reported by the respective health insurers.
