Day on the Hill 2021

TMA's annual Doctors' Day on the Hill will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. This event connects physicians directly with lawmakers so they can advocate for their patients and discuss major issues affecting the medical profession in Tennessee. Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, we will be hosting the event in a new virtual format.

All Member Virtual Meeting

Every other third Thursday we host a virtual meeting to discuss an issue that is relevant to our members and physicians across the state. We'll invite multiple experts to give us their perspective on the issue. Pre-registration is required, but attendance is free. The next session will be March 18 at 6:30 pm CST. Discussion topics will be announced closer to date.

House of Delegates 2021

TMA's House of Delegates gives physicians from across the state an opportunity to gather as a professional group to present and debate policies that affect the practice of medicine and the delivery of patient care in both Tennessee and the United States. Our Annual Meeting and House of Delegates is slated for May 21-23, 2021. Any resolutions submitted for 2020 will be carried forth if that is the will of the author. Instructions regarding new resolution submission will be posted on the HOD website in 2021 and communicated to the members or the House. We will continue to communicate with you as we have new information.

Physician Leadership Lab

The John Ingram Institute for Physician Leadership is TMA’s ongoing training initiative to uplift physicians as leaders on a healthcare team, in their profession and in the community. This multi-month Lab helps physicians develop the valuable skills essential to leaders in the emerging physician-led, team-based healthcare environment. Physician participants attend two live sessions in January and April, along with webinars and individual coaching sessions.

Due to the pandemic, we offer a series of educational videos covering some of the legal and operational issues involved with COVID-19. They are all ACCME-certified and provided at no cost. The videos are available 24/7 for your convenience.

Tennessee Healthcare Symposium

The Tennessee Healthcare Symposium is a must-attend event for physicians, medical office staff and other healthcare professionals who want to improve coding, billing and reimbursement process within your practice, as well as improve bottom line profitability. Our 2020 event brought together 31 experts across 12 educational sessions and 8 unique payer sessions that highlighted upcoming changes to insurance plans. Proper Prescribing Training

TMA helps doctors meet state medical boards’ requirements of two (2) CME hours of prescribing training. In our proprietary, accredited course, "Appropriate Prescribing in Tennessee," physicians will receive a comprehensive review of new definitions, state laws and other regulatory changes affecting pain management. Physicians renewing their license in 2022 are required to take a prescribing course by Dec. 31, 2021.
