Tennessee Medical Association Elects Officers for 2020-2021

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Medical Association has announced its new slate of officers for the 2020-2021 term, following a recent meeting of the Board of Trustees.

Timothy Wilson, MD, of Knoxville
, was elected Board of Trustees Chair. Dr. Wilson a plastic surgeon at East Tennessee Plastic Surgery, and serves as Chief of Staff at Parkwest Medical Center, a Covenant Health hospital, also in Knoxville. He is president of the Knoxville Academy of Medicine, and President-elect of The Tennessee Society of Plastic Surgeons.

James Cates, MD, of Cookeville, was selected as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Cates is owner of Satellite Med in Cookeville. He specializes in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, and is affiliated with Livingston Regional Hospital.

John McCarley, MD, of Chattanooga
, was reelected as Secretary Treasurer. Dr. McCarley is a nephrologist with Nephrology Associates in Chattanooga and is affiliated with numerous hospitals in the Chattanooga area including Parkridge Medical Center, CHI Memorial Hospital, Erlanger Medical Center, University of Tennessee Medical Center. He has served as TMA secretary treasurer for the last two years.
