Access Failure on United Healthcare Premium Pay

Many of you may have noticed that you no longer have access to United Healthcare’s Premium Pay functionality. The free trial of this new feature expired February 28th.
TMA has been contacted by several practices that are unable to access the Basic function since the trial period ended. United Healthcare has acknowledged issues with their new Optum Pay feature and have provided additional messaging on Hero banner and Alert notice on uhcprovider.com. If you wish to continue having access to the Premium Pay product, you must enroll at a cost of 0.5% of payments.
TMA has expressed opposition to this costly feature and recommends checking with your clearinghouse to determine if you can obtain the same information without an additional charge.
