TMA Remembers Dr. Roland Gray
October 10, 2018
Physicians and staff of the Tennessee Medical Association were saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Roland Gray on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Dr. Gray was an extremely dedicated and humble partner to the physicians of Tennessee and TMA. His deep sense of service to his physician colleagues and many others was a true testament to his commitment as a healer.
Dr. Gray served as medical director of the Tennessee Medical Foundation for 15 years, retiring in 2017. TMA started TMF to help physicians overcome addiction and other personal struggles that interfere with their professional calling. Prior to his work with TMF, Dr. Gray served for more than 20 years as a volunteer medical director for a Nashville-area residential recovery program. He also helped start and lead a foundation for inmates incarcerated for drug charges.
All of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with Dr. Gray will fondly remember his warm spirit, and celebrate his many contributions to the medical profession.
