Tennessee Healthcare Symposium 2020 Earns National Recognition
June 21, 2021
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Healthcare Symposium, TMA’s three-day educational conference for healthcare professionals in coding, billing and reimbursements, has been recognized as one of the nation’s best special events in healthcare.
The Aster Awards, among the largest national/international healthcare marketing competitions of its kind, announced TMA’s 2020 Symposium as a Gold Award winner, a credential reserved for the top 5% of scored entries.
This year’s Aster Awards received more than 2,500 entries across 86 competition categories, all reviewed by a panel of industry experts and scored on multiple criteria including: creativity, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal and execution.
“During these unprecedented times of Covid, this year’s competition was one of the most creative to date. Our hats off to everyone for amazing entries,” said Melinda Lucas, Aster Awards Program Coordinator.
COVID-19 forced an unexpected urgent change in the 2020 event, and TMA adapted with a three-day all-virtual format. The event registered 300 attendees for 21 CME and CEU seminars with more than 30 industry speakers via teleconference technology.
In the competition, participant’s entries compete against similar-sized organizations in their specific groups and categories. The TMA entry was among the few to produce materials and/or programming without the assistance of a partnering advertising or marketing agency. TMA did, however, collaborate with a technology firm to deliver the virtual Symposium curriculum.
National Best of Show went to Moffitt Cancer Center, in Tampa, FL, supported by BVK-Milwaukee, while Roering Creative Kin out of Johannesburg, South Africa, earned International Best of Show.
Four entries scored 100%: Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA; Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC; Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA; and St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Bangor, Maine. TMA’s Symposium event scored in the 90 to 95% range.
All winners are currently posted on the Aster Awards website. On demand sessions of the 2020 Symposium programming can be accessed here.
