New Cost Transparency Tool Available
July 14, 2022TMA’s Pharmaceutical Council aims to draw attention to a new tool designed to provide patients with more transparency about medicine costs, the Medicine Assistance Tool (MAT).
MAT is an easy-to-use search engine that contains information on more than 900 public and private assistance programs that help patients, their families and health care professionals find financial support and resources for prescription assistance.
MAT was created by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). PhRMA works in partnership on MAT with health care providers, pharmacists, patient advocacy groups and community organizations to make it easier for those in financial need to access their medicines.

TMA’s Pharmaceutical Council serves as an opportunity to network and reenergize the relationship between physicians and the pharmaceutical industry in Tennessee. The council seeks to discuss issues that may cause concern, resistance or friction between prescribers and producers, as well as propose solutions to common problems inherent in the U.S. health care system.
