2024 House of Delegates and Annual Meeting

The 189th TMA House of Delegates and Annual Meeting will be held in Nashville on Saturday, April 6 at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Voting and presentation of resolutions will be done in person, according to current Bylaws.

  • First Session: Official seating of delegates, introduction of resolutions and reports of officers and committees.
  • Second Session: Discussion and voting on the resolutions and bylaws presented to the House for consideration, election of Speaker and Vice Speaker, and installation of President.

Resolutions: Policy issues that your Society wishes to submit to the HOD for consideration should be submitted to the TMA Headquarters to Amy Campoli at amy.campoli@tnmed.org. The deadline to submit resolutions is March 23. Resolutions must be submitted by March 16 in order to be considered by the Legislative Committee. Late submissions will be considered emergency resolutions and will require approval for acceptance by two thirds of membership of the HOD present to accept them as emergency resolutions and business of the House.

TMA PAC Reception

TMA is offering an exclusive opportunity for members to attend a first-of-its-kind fundraising reception in support of the association’s political action committee, TMA PAC. The event will take place the evening before the House of Delegates on Friday, April 5 from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro. Attendees can expect an open bar, buffet, and several current and former state dignitaries. Joining us from the federal level is U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty, who was first elected to represent Tennessee as junior senator in 2020 following the retirement of Senator Lamar Alexander. From the local level, Mayor of Franklin and TMA member, Dr. Ken Moore, will also be in attendance. Both guests will be available to mingle with attendees throughout the evening. The event will also feature a video appearance from Congressman David Kustoff of Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District, as well as in-person remarks from state legislators and TMA members Senator Joey Hensley, MD (R-Hohenwald) and Representative Bryan Terry (R-Murfreesboro)

Members in active practice are encouraged to donate at Patron ($1,000), Supporter ($500), or Attendee ($350) levels to help support TMA’s fundraising goals ahead of the 2024 election cycle. Lower entry rates are available for retired physicians, non-physicians, residents, and students. Additionally, TMA PAC will accept corporate contributions for sponsor-level opportunities at the event.

TMA PAC is non-partisan political action committee aimed at the election and retention of pro-medicine candidates. Financial contributions are given to those who are receptive to the issues of physicians, sit on important committees, and/or hold leadership positions. This exclusive opportunity is your chance to support the political ambitions of organized medicine while connecting with influential decision-makers.

Register for the event here. Note a donation is required for entry. For questions or sponsorship opportunities, contact TMA’s Grassroots and Legislative Affairs Associate, Joey Alongi, at joey.alongi@tnmed.org.
