Save the date for TMA’s next All Member Virtual meeting set for Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 6:00 pm CT featuring a vaccine workshop on topics related to Tennessee's maternal and infant vaccine policies, with a deeper analysis of general vaccine technology, vaccine hesitancy, vaccine reimbursement fees, and problems arising from recent changes to Tennessee's Mature Minor Doctrine.
TMA will welcome guest speaker Julian Polaris to present the program. A partner at Manatt Health, Polaris is responsible for advising healthcare stakeholders like state governments, providers, life science companies, and health plans. He provides guidance and advocacy at the intersection of regulatory compliance, public policy and litigation, with particular experience in Medicaid issues related to coverage, reimbursement, and delivery system reform. In addition, Polaris provides recommendations on policy reforms that seek to promote access to services such as vaccines, reproductive health services, behavioral health services, and highly specialized services for rare or serious conditions. Prior to joining Manatt, Julian served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He holds a B.A. and a J.D. from Yale University.
Following Mr. Polaris’ portion of the program, TMA’s Assistant Director of Government Affairs, John Carr, J.D., will provide updates on state legislative developments and vaccine legislation introduced in the 2024 session that may be of interest to TMA’s Pharmaceutical Council and TMA members.
